Southwestern’s Board of Trustees Holds January Meeting

Creston— The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of directors met Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 8:30 a.m. in the Administration Center on the Creston campus.  The meeting was held electronically due to a brief agenda.

During the monitoring report, Fred Shearer, SWCC board of trustees member from Corning, asked questions regarding GED testing at Southwestern.  Shearer’s questions related to how many students are currently taking the GED test through Southwestern, and how high is the college’s pass rate for the GED test.  It was determined that a detailed report about SWCC’s GED program will be given at the March board of trustees meeting.

Jerry Smith, board member from Osceola, reported he would be attending the Iowa Association for Community College Trustees meeting on January 25, 2012, in Des Moines.
